May be an unusual subject but I have been attempting some silver repairs for a close friend. As a by product I have ambitions to make some silver items myself so I have melted some scrap silver but it was a little more difficult that I anticipated using an open top small crucible.

Looking on You Tube I saw that you had to keep heating the silver metal even when pouring so I needed to make a suitable holder. This is my attempt and took very little time to make. Most of the work was done yesterday with just some finishing touches today. See what you think.

I made it from some left over steel and cold bent the shape required. The handle was made from some small wood also left over from another job so wasn't very expensive!
