Yes its true, today I invented a time machine. How?  Well I went fishing on Monday, spent Tuesday in bed recovering and today I finally got into the workshop. I thought I would complete a few cams for the team build I am involved in. I had two attempts which resulted in two more bits of scrap! So what about the time machine? Simple I just went backwards today! I have two less blanks than when I started, so that means making another two blanks and my record so far is 0 completed but three scrap, although the first one was a trial piece in anyhow.

I knew I shouldn't have started, but I did. I blame the supplier of the copper I ordered. If it had arrived today I could have gotten on with the ash pan but since it hadn't arrived.............and the rest they say is history........I spent the rest of the morning doing various non critical jobs such as moving the DRO bracket.

So I hope the copper comes so and I feel up to having a go at the cams again, I did take the opportunity to mark up the compass (see photo below) to make moving the cams easier and marked the cams with tippex, then red marker pen than scribed a line. This method does help when turning the cam blank through the 5 to 10 degrees each cut.

Never mind, its all experience!
