Day off from the workshop – gone fishing!
Filed in General engineering posts on Nov.06, 2008
Well today I spent fishing instead of finishing off the 'special' project. However one interesting feature I can let you in on is a new (to me) method of finishing wood. Instead of varnish, oil or wax, use superglue. Yes, superglue! I have two pieces of wood to finish off and I am doing one with varnish and the other with Superglue as a comparison.
I got the tip from the forum I use for model engineering and it has created a little interest there. I have applied the first coat, sanded and applied the second. It now requires sanding again and then I will see whether it needs the third.........I will post some pictures soon....
