Welcome to Mikes-models model engineering website. Its sole aim is to record the work that I undertake and hopefully other novice engineers can learn from my mistakes, for there are many of them! None of the work I do on this site should be taken as a recommendation of how to do some task or other. I am a new (ish) engineer myself and am learning all the time. I also have a blog (funny term for a diary!) and if you have any comments to make either email me via the box on the left above. The blog can be viewed either via the links page or the address is www.mikes-models.com/blog its as simple as that. I am happy to show others work on these pages and if you have a project underway that may be of use to others then please let me know.

Last year we had just under a quarter of a million page views, and this interest has increased year on year , so thank you all for your continued interest. (246,606 to be precise)

I do source quite a bit of supplies via eBay and where possible let you know via the text. However there are many. many good firms out there and please feel free to e-mail me if you want to know where I bought my item or tool. For example, castings available now on ebay can be found just by clicking here.

Finally I decided to change each year the style of the web pages. If you come across other styles you will know that the work was not carried out this year (2011). Once again welcome. Mike

Following some recent successful medical treatment I have started work again at last in the workshop, so I have made a start on the electric ride in van for my granddaughter, Freya. The first job is to get the motor side to work. That needs a pair of stub axle extensions and a pair of securing wheel bushes. Don't trust myself yet to resume the pair of Seal engines, but hopefully this approach will get me up to speed again.
